BRE the DIGITAL estate - Building 16 Asset Information Model
A landmark building at the heart of the BRE campus with innovations in energy efficient environmental design. Designed use 30% less energy than best practice in 1996, the project received a BREEAM ‘Excellent’ rating, achieving the highest score recorded at the time.
BRE’s BIM team reverse-engineered as built drawings into a Revit model and ActivePlan used that and other schedules to create an Asset Information Model including a COBie data model and spreadsheet.
This is now being extended to cover the whole site and act as a test-bed for other applications.
ActivePlan’s AIM platform includes:
BRE Templater (the technology solution that supports the CPA’s LEXiCON collaboration)
Active AIR – Asset Information Requirements
Active Validator – automatically checks these requirements are being delivered
Active Product Library – standardized project-specific libraries for easy access and updating.
Active COBie – allows multiple COBie files to be integrated, viewed, validated and generated
Active Assurance – cloud-based document store and management
API Integration – with Autodesk Revit and Forge
